The Reasons Why We Love Abstract Expressionism | abstract expressionism

Abstract Expressionism is an expressive art movement that emerged in American art, developed in Manhattan in the late 1940s. It was the first uniquely American movement to garner international fame and place New York City on the map of the world art scene, a role previously occupied by Paris. The paintings and sculptures from this time are considering one of the most influential and important art movements of modern times. Their distinctive style of expressing the artist's own thoughts and feelings are what make these works so unique.

Murals can be classified under several different styles, depending on whether the painting or sculpture is made with a brush or canvas. Acrylic, oil, watercolors and gouache are the most commonly used materials in the making of abstract art, although other materials such as silver, copper and bronze can also be used. The use of pastels and watercolors during the early years of this art movement were not as common as they become after World War II.

Murals have become quite popular for commercial purposes, such as advertising, but in recent years, many painters have been using them more as art pieces, especially when they are displayed indoors. A common example of an indoor abstract art piece is found in museums across the United States. In these museums, visitors often walk through large open-air galleries and view abstract paintings and sculptures made by famous artists of past centuries.

Abstract Expressionism was originally intended to express one's own unique personality and ideas, not as part of a “big deal.” In the early days of its development, these paintings and sculptures were meant to be viewed from above, as they were usually displayed by their creators in large galleries. Many of these artists were interested in using abstract art as a tool to draw attention to their own art, rather than sell it.

Murals were initially created on a limited scale and then gradually became popularized as more artists were added to their collective work. As the popularity of murals grew, more artists were invited to create their own works of art. These artists took abstract art to a new level, making abstract art something of a culture in its own right, with its own fans, critics all over the world.

Abstract Expressionism has become a popular style of art worldwide. Many people consider this style of art to be a form of expression in itself, rather than just a collection of fine art or paintings. They view it as a way to express themselves.
